I never like starting to use mods right out of the gate with new games, not even small ones (even if that can sometimes happen, but those mods are usually minor things, like small UI changes to be easier to use or see what is going on, and what not. It does usually take me at least a year or two befor I finally tend to get into playing big mods like that. I decided to go with BEX, Sim difficulty, and Campaign for my first big mod playthrough (will probably play a BEX Sim+ diff Career mode (with 5 or 7 part to a mech to build) as well befor I move on to trying "the big one", RogueTech.

So currently that is what I am playing, my first such playthrough for BattleTech. but recently I finally decided to get into playing my first big overhaul mod.

maybe WotC might edge the other versions out a little bit, but if so it is not by much (will see how well LWotC does for me once I start playing that as well).Īnd for BattleTech I would normally shift between playing the Campaign, and playing Career mode. I actually do not have any one specific "version" that I like more than the other. not sure if that has been fixed since last I played EU-Long War though.įor XCOM 2 I will shift between playing XCOM2-Vanilla (yes, I still enjoy vanilla), XCOM2-WotC, XCOM2-Long War, and will eventually also include XCOM2-Long War of the Chosen. I used to play Long War for EU as well, but I eventually got tired of rolling XCOM-EU back to the right patch version for the EU Long War mod to work. So for XCOM 1 I will shift between playing XCOM-EU (least played these days), XCOM-EW and XCOM-EW+Long War. I also tend to shift what it is I play specifically for each game each time I come back to them as well. for every 4-10'ish times that I play an XCOM2 or BattleTech playthrough (which I may, or may not, finish), I play some version of XCOM1 again.

but the nr 1 and 2 spot do shift from time to time between BattleTech and XCOM2). Those three games are BattleTech, XCOM2, and XCOM1 (this is the current order of which I play the most. I tend to shift back and forth between games and watching things. It only drops in % when I encounter a new game I want to try/play, or during periods of time where I end up watching a lot more tv-series and movies then usual. I still play XCOM1 though.Ĭurrently there are three games which together I spend anywhere from 50-90+% out of all my gameplay time on at any given time. at least until XCOM2 came out, when that game eventually took over that distinction. I would guess that at least half, or maybe even a lot more, of all the time I spent with games during that time was XCOM1. XCOM-EU/EW are indeed great games! I started to play XCOM:EU pretty much as soon as it came out, and then for the next ~¨¨¨3.5 years it was the game I played the most out of everything I played.
